Script Contest 2006 "Tourists"

The 5th edition of the NISI MASA European Short Film Script Contest, on the theme “Tourists”, came to an end on the 8th of November 2006 with the announcement of the three European Awards.

The jury, gathered in Helsinki (Finland) along the 23rd Kettupäivät - Film Festival, awarded:

- Harragas, by Grégory Lecocq (Belgium)
- Nighttime Visitors, by Sonja Csukor (Hungary)
- Tourist, by Mateusz Subieta (Poland)

Script Contest 2005 "SILENCE"

The
4th edition of the NISI MASA European Short Film Script Contest, on the theme “Silence”, came to an end on the 5th of November 2005 with the announcement of the three European Awards.

The jury, gathered in Berlin (Germany) along the InterFilm Festival, rewarded:

- Lily, by Marianne Griolet (Sweden)
- Sea Bass Dream, by Claudio Lauri (Italy)
- If I Fall, by Hannaleena Hauru (Finland)

Script Contest 2004 "The Other"

In April 2004, a 3rd edition was launched, with a 14th country, Turkey, entering NISI MASA. The theme this year was "The Other".

More than 600 scripts were collected and the jury, gathered in Alcalá de Henares (Spain) along the 34th Short Film Festival rewarded:

- Tomi, Lassi Virtanen (Finland)

Jury Meeting "Borders"

Courmayeur (Italy), December 2003

The 2nd NISI MASA Script Contest reached its end in December 2003. For this year the jury settled in Courmayeur, a little village of the Italian Alps very close from the French border. At the same period of time, from the 6th to the 10th of December, the Noir in Festival, focusing on genre films, took place in the ski resort.

For the second edition of the contest, the jury was composed of 20 NISI MASA members, coming from 13 different European countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and UK.

Script Contest 2003 "Borders"

2nd Edition of the Script Contest - "Borders", 2003

After the success of the first edition, organizations of six new countries (Bulgaria, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Poland and UK) became members of the NISI MASA network.
In 2003 the competition was thus organised in 13 countries from May to the end of August, on the theme "Borders".

NISI MASA got almost 500 scripts, each country having to choose two finalists before the jury meeting.

Out of those 26 pre-selected scripts translated into English, the jury, which gathered December 2003 in Courmayeur, Italy, gave three prizes –worth 4.000 euros each this time- to the following scripts:

Jury Meeting "Idea(s) of Europe(s)"

Surgères, 26 Aug.-2 Sept. 2002

For many reasons, the NISI MASA European Script Contest –created in 2002- is a unique initiative. Its Jury meeting for example is very special.
Every year it gathers a multicultural group of young Europeans; and each time, it has to take place in a different country of Europe! The jury aims at discussing the pre-selected scripts for several days (!) and eventually, at awarding the three best ones.

For its first edition (26 Aug.-2 Sept. 2002), the jury was composed of NISI MASA members, all aged between 18 and 28 years, coming from the seven participating countries: Belgium, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

Script Contest 2002 "IDEA(S) OF EUROPE(S)"

2002 was the first year to organise the Nisi Masa script writing competition in seven different European countries (Belgium, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Portugal and Spain).

The theme chosen for the first contest was "Idea(s) of Europe(s)" in order to foster a strong intercultural perspective, encouraging the young scriptwriters to think about their own perception of Europe, and then, to transmit it within their scripts. At total about 250 scripts were sent to the national groups between March and the 30th of June.

At the end of August, the jury, composed of national groups delegates, got together in Surgères, France, to choose the first three winners of the contest, each one getting 2.500 euros for the production of the scripts. The winners were:
