The idea was simple yet hard to implement: to ask young European directors to explore Paris with their video cameras and to capture personal visions of the city.

Considering the division of Paris in 20 districts, why not invite 20 countries? A different country, a different film, for each district.

During its 5th anniversary NISI MASA organised in association with Kino Paris a Kabaret* at the Villa Mais d’Ici, an art centre situated in Aubervilliers.

DOKO YOMI, Mitrovica

DOKO YOMI, “Documenting Kosovo’s Youth in Mitrovica” was a documentary workshop organised by NISI MASA, in cooperation with its member organisation in Kosovo, 7Arte. It was open to young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 living in Albania and the former Yugoslavian countries.

 This project aimed to:
  • train young people in documentary filmmaking
  • encourage creative expression amongst young people in the Balkans, especially in the specific area of Kosovo and its neighbouring regions
  • promote mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue
  • develop long-term partnerships between young European and Balkan artists.

“Into the network, from local to international”

1.–6. August 2006, Vienna (Austria)

Organised in Vienna, with the cooperation of Kino5, from the 1st to the 6th of August 2006, this summer training course gathered 20 members of our network determined to invent TODAY the FUTURE of NISI MASA!

This 6-day encounter included 10 associations from as many countries. Its aim was to give NISI MASA members the necessary knowledge and tools in order to develop quality local and international projects. In addition, participants shared their existing knowledge and experience in the fields of youth activities connected with cinema, networking, and the Youth Programme.

Script Contest 2006 "Tourists"

The 5th edition of the NISI MASA European Short Film Script Contest, on the theme “Tourists”, came to an end on the 8th of November 2006 with the announcement of the three European Awards.

The jury, gathered in Helsinki (Finland) along the 23rd Kettupäivät - Film Festival, awarded:

- Harragas, by Grégory Lecocq (Belgium)
- Nighttime Visitors, by Sonja Csukor (Hungary)
- Tourist, by Mateusz Subieta (Poland)
