The 5th edition of the NISI MASA European Short Film Script Contest, on the theme “Tourists”, came to an end on the 8th of November 2006 with the announcement of the three European Awards.
The jury, gathered in Helsinki (Finland) along the 23rd Kettupäivät - Film Festival, awarded:
- Harragas, by Grégory Lecocq (Belgium)
- Nighttime Visitors, by Sonja Csukor (Hungary)
- Tourist, by Mateusz Subieta (Poland)
The three scriptwriters will each get a prize worth 5 000 euros in order to produce their awarded scripts into short films. These prizes include post-production works by the companies Eclair Laboratoires and LVT.
For its 5th edition, the NISI MASA contest was open for people between 18 and 28 years of age in 17 countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, UK). A slight disappointment regarding previous years, 'only' 400 scripts dealing with the theme “Tourists” were collected this year.
Besides the 3 European winners, several finalist scriptwriters were invited to participate in European Short Pitch, a scriptwriting workshop & promotion event from the 22nd till the 29th of January 2007, in Moulin d'Andé and during the International Short Film Festival of Clermont-Ferrand (France).
