The script of this film was winner of the 5th edition of the NISI MASA European Script Contest for short films, the theme of which was “Tourist”.
This film was directed by its awarded scriptwriter, the polish Matej Subieta.
The film is about some impoverished pensioners, living in dull and gloomy city of tower blocks who cannot afford summer vacations.Despite this sad reality they are desperate and manage to have great holidays on a sandy beach with lots of sunshine.
PRODUCTION NOTES
Tourist was shot in summer 2009 : shooting of a "hot afternoon" during a thunder storm was not really pleasant, they were forced to limit the number of shooting days significantly!
The producer of this film is Odeon Film Studio in Poland.
FESTIVAL
Tourist has received a special invitation to the International Film festival in Bratislava.
